Two European Championships and the start of the run-up to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. It is with these major challenges in mind that today Macron and the Italian Basketball Federation presented the New Home and Away kits which the Azzurre and Azzurri will be wearing from this summer onwards. The venue for this presentation was the Macron Campus, the innovative headquarters of the Bologna-based company – an international leader in sportswear – which has been the official kit supplier to the FIP and the Italian national basketball teams since 2023.
As well as the new home and away match kits – which have been redesigned since last year ahead of the Women’s and Men’s European Championships to highlight the colours of the Italian flag even more – the presentation also provided an opportunity to unveil a alternative set in Navy-Gold and White-Gold colourways which will be worn by the women’s and men’s national teams in their friendly matches in the run-up to their respective continental tournaments. In the same colour scheme, Macron and the FIP have also launched a major new product: designed for fans and enthusiasts who live and breathe basketball even off the court: a capsule collection exclusive compound a striking T-shirt in navy blue and from a college-style sweatshirt perfect for wearing in your free time.
Italbasket’s new home kit It is predominantly white, with a V-neck tank top and sleeve edges trimmed in light blue and gold. The distinctive feature of the new kits is the side panel on both hips, characterised by a green-white-red tricolour that fades to white in the centre, where there are three small gold-coloured diamonds. The word ‘ITALIA’ appears in light blue in the centre of the chest, whilst the FIP logo in light blue and the Macron Hero logo in gold are positioned one above the other on the right-hand side.
On the inside of the back of the neck there is a personalised label divided into two halves: the left half is light blue and the right half is white. Here too, the three gold diamonds reappear, separating the FIP logo – positioned on the right-hand half – from the Macron logo, complemented by the inscription ‘Designed in Bologna’, which certifies that all garments are conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus in Valsamoggia. The shorts are also white, with the top waistband consisting entirely of a tricolour stripe. On both sides of the hips are the three gold diamonds, positioned above light blue stripes edged in gold, which also feature along the back of the thigh.
The away kit It replicates the graphic design and distinctive features of the Home version in every respect, but is characterised – in both the vest and the shorts – by a predominance of light blue, complemented by white and gold details and tricolour side panels.
Like all the kits produced by Macron for its partner teams across all sports, all the Italbasket kits unveiled today are made from Eco Fabric, that is, using fabrics made entirely from 100%, derived from recycled post-consumer plastic. This underlines the shared commitment of Macron and the Italian Basketball Federation to the environment and sustainability.
Both the new kits and all the products in the new collection designed for fans and supporters of the Italian national basketball teams are now available to buy in Macron Stores and online at the’a dedicated section on Italbasket on macron.com.
