The Ospreys, a leading Welsh rugby club which joined the family just this year Macron, presented the new race kits which will be worn by Swansea XV in the prestigious United Rugby Championship. These jerseys celebrate the Ospreys’ twenty-year history, symbols and achievements through sophisticated and innovative designs, whilst at the same time – as with all Macron clubs – conveying a strong message of sustainability and respect for the environment. The new kits are in fact made from Eco Fabric, made from 100% polyester fabric derived from recycled plastic: in fact, for every jumper produced, the equivalent of around 13 0.5-litre plastic bottles is used.
The new ‘Home’The Ospreys’ squad for the 2023–24 season is black with a V-neck featuring light blue trim and white detailing; the same colour combination is featured on the cuffs. The back of the neck is personalised with the multicoloured graphic that characterises the Away version, the lettering ‘OSPREYS’, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed in the the technical sponsor’s Bologna office. There is also a personalised sweat-wicking tape inside the collar, featuring the numbers 2003-2023, repeated, to mark the Welsh club’s 20th anniversary. On the chest, in white on the right, the Macron the Hero, with the club’s logo on the left. OSPREYS It is also printed in white on the outer back of the collar, alongside four coloured dots (red, white, blue, grey) representing the West Glamorgan clubs whose merger gave rise to the Ospreys: Aberavon RFC, Swansea RFC, Bridgend Ravens RFC and Neath RFC. There are two graphic motifs on the home shirt. The sleeves and shoulders feature an embossed pattern incorporating the team’s logo. On the lower front, meanwhile, a grey sublimation print of the Ospreys‘ first crest stands out; this is a fusion of the crests of the two founding clubs: the osprey of Swansea RFC is superimposed on the Patent Cross of Neath RFC, whilst below appears the inscription ’Est. 2003’, the year the club was founded. The shorts are black with white drawstrings, whilst the black socks feature a white and a light blue stripe at the top.
The white of the ‘ version‘Away’ features innovative and striking sublimation print graphics at the top of the shirt and on the sleeves. The design depicts the face of a osprey – the club’s logo and symbol – within which are abstract geometric shapes and club-related symbols in pink and light blue, as well as a series of dates representing the Welsh club’s twenty-year history and achievements. This sophisticated design reaffirms Macron’s ability to create exclusive and unique technical garments for its clubs. As with the Home kit, the sleeves feature an embossed pattern with the club logo repeated at various angles, whilst the cuffs echo the same abstract, colourful design as the front of the shirt. This design is also featured on the customised back neck inside the V-neck collar, with black trim and light blue and pink detailing. On the chest, just above the ‘eyes’ of the mask, the Macron Hero logo and the Ospreys crest appear in white. On the outer back of the neck, the lettering OSPREYS and the four coloured dots, as in the Home version. The shorts are white with pink, black and light blue detailing along the thigh seam. The three stripes just below the top edge of the white socks are in the same colours.
