Refinement, style, elegance and attention to graphic detail are the “ingredients” of the new ‘Third’ shirt’ Special Edition of the’FC Basel 1893, a Swiss club which is also marking its 130-year history with this kit. Macron, technical partner of the “Rotblau”, has created this match kit using an embossed pattern, playing with the interplay of solid and empty spaces to give the fabric a three-dimensional effect, making the garment stylistically unique without compromising on its technical performance. Like all the shirts for partner teams for the 2023–24 season, the FC Basel 1893 Third Kit is also made entirely from fabrics Eco Fabric, made from 100% recycled polyester yarn. A conscious business decision, which forms part of the activities of the “Macron 4 the Planet”.

The new ‘Third’ Special Edition from FC Basel 1893, featuring an elegant knitted polo collar with a single-button fastening, is ‘all black’ with gold detailing on the sleeve edges and the bottom of the shirt. The distinctive pattern on this third kit’s shirt once again features the city’s symbol, the Baslerstab – a shepherd’s crook featured on the Basel flag and which also adorns the sleeves of the current home shirt. The design has been reimagined here with bold, sharp lines, repeated in fairly thick diagonal stripes using an “embossed” technique which, through a play of positive and negative space, creates a three-dimensional effect in the fabric. On the front, it is used to form bands that extend diagonally, whilst on the back it appears in larger dimensions, yet still giving the design a diagonal feel.

The back of the neck is personalised with a label featuring the same design as on the shirt, the numbers from the FC Basel 1893 logo, the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’ to highlight how every garment is conceived, designed and developed in the Macron’s Bologna office. On the right side of the chest, the Macron the Hero in gold, whilst on the left, also in gold on a black background, there is a retro version of the coat of arms of the’FC Basel 1893.

The year 1893, when the club was founded, is printed in gold on the outer collar band. The shorts are black with gold drawstring ends. The shirt has a fit Slim fit, the main fabric is made of Eco Light Siren whilst the back panel and sleeves are made of Eco Micromesh which ensures the garment is extremely lightweight and perfectly breathable.
