Edinburgh Rugby, the Scottish XV, which last year celebrated 150 years of history, is preparing to face a new and challenging season in the United Rugby Championship and the EPCR Challenge Cup. The words ‘’ are embroidered in white on the outer nape of the neck:‘EST – 1872’, the year the Scottish club was founded. On the chest, on the right in white, is the Macron Hero logo; on the left is the Edinburgh Rugby crest. The ‘Home’ kit is completed by navy blue shorts with side stripes that echo the striped design of the shirt. The socks are navy blue at the bottom, whilst from the middle upwards they feature stripes of varying thickness in blue reflective fabric with a gradient effect and an orange horizontal stripe along the top edge.
The ‘Alternate’ is in off-white with a polo-style collar, sleeve hems and side panels in burnt orange. The melange effect is further enhanced by the tone-on-tone graphic design, consisting of numerous stripes of varying widths on both the front and back. Here too, as with the ‘Home’ shirt, the back of the neck is customised and features the lettering ‘EST – 1872’ is embroidered in navy blue on the back of the neck. The shorts are also in off-white and feature a series of horizontal stripes of varying widths in burnt orange along the sides.
