Irish green is the colour that characterises the team’s shirt Connacht Rugby, the current squad in the United Rugby Championship and the EPCR Challenge Cup. Once again this year, as the Irish XV prepares to celebrate its 140th anniversary, green will feature prominently on the team’s home kit. The colour will also serve as a message of sustainability, as the kit is made – like all those produced by Macron for its clubs – from Eco Fabric, 100% polyester fabric % made from post-consumer recycled plastic.

The Connacht Rugby’s new homepage It features a bottle-green polo collar – a colour also found in the vertical stripes down the sides – with lighter green detailing, the same shade that also appears on the sleeve cuffs. The main body of the shirt, the sleeves and the shoulders are dark green, enhanced by a design inspired by the topographical maps of the Connacht region. The design features a gradient effect that adds movement and depth to the shirt and is also present on the back. The inside of the back neck is personalised with a dark green label featuring two diagonal stripes in a brighter shade of green, with the club logo alongside the Macron logo and the text ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus.

On his chest, the Macron the Hero, in white, is positioned in the centre, whilst on the left is the coat of arms of the Connacht Rugby, featuring an eagle and an arm brandishing a sword. The home kit, which features all logos in sublimated print, is completed by dark green shorts with white drawstrings. The socks are bottle green with two light green horizontal stripes along the top edge; on the front is the Macron Hero logo in white and on the back, on the calf, three inverted light green triangles, with the word ‘CONNACHT’ written beneath. The shirt has a Body Fit, the main fabric used is Eco-Armevo and the presence of ‘i’ inserts in Eco-Boditex and Eco-Strong Mesh They ensure high performance and durability for the head, combined with lightness and excellent breathability.
