Derbies in Athens are a serious affair, but today’s match against Panathinaikos will have a double significance for the’AEK BC. For this important occasion, the Athens-based club will in fact be sporting the special ‘Anniversary Shirt’ which is celebrating its 100-year history. A historic milestone that deserves a fully customised and deeply meaningful kit to pay tribute to AEK BC’s glorious century-long history. The shirt, which will be worn exclusively for the derby against Panathinaikos on matchday 18 of the A1 Ethniki, is made entirely from Eco Fabric, made from 100% polyester fabric derived from recycled plastic. A green choice endorsed by both the club and its kit supplier, which conveys a strong message of sustainability and respect for the environment.

The new AEK BC Anniversary Kit features numerous new elements in terms of both style and design, starting with the colours. Burgundy and gold have replaced the traditional yellow and black, evoking AEK BC’s historic kits and celebrating the Greek club’s anniversary. The design also marks a significant first for Macron, as this is the first short-sleeved shirt produced for a top basketball club. The collar of the 100th Anniversary Shirt It features a V-neck with gold, white and burgundy stripes, a colour combination also found on the sleeve hems. The back of the neck is personalised with a gold and burgundy label, the club’s centenary logo, alongside the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, to certify and highlight how each garment is conceived, designed and developed at Macron’s headquarters.

On the right-hand side of the chest, one below the other in gold, the logo of the’AEK BC and the Macron the Hero. In the centre, also in gold, is the acronym A.E.K. On the sides are two gold stripes featuring images of all the national and international trophies won by the Athens club. The burgundy shirt also features, on both the front and back, a tone-on-tone sublimation print design with a repeated motif of the double-headed eagle, the symbol of AEK BC. The special match kit is completed by burgundy shorts with white drawstrings and a gold-coloured top edge and side stripes.

The 100th Anniversary Shirt has a fit Body Fit with the main fabric made of Eco Digitex and inserts in Eco Mesh, which ensure lightness and excellent breathability.
