Macron and PAOK FC unveil the second commemorative kit created to celebrate the centenary of the Greek club: a special shirt paying tribute to the club’s origins and the deep connection between the two cities that symbolise its history, Istanbul and Thessaloniki. An exclusive project that tells a story of identity, memory and belonging through a design rich in historical references and details with strong symbolic value.
The creative concept behind the kit is inspired by the claim “Two Cities, One Team, One Jersey” and takes shape through a graphic composition merging the city maps of Istanbul and Thessaloniki into a single visual design. PAOK – an acronym for Panthessalonikeios Athlītikos Omilos Kōnstantinoupolitōn (Pan-Thessalonian Athletic Club of Constantinopolitans) – was founded in 1926 by the community of refugees from Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). The maps extend across the entire surface of the jersey through a special embossed graphics that creates a sophisticated three-dimensional effect.
The shirt features a black base enriched with anthracite inserts and silver piping separating the various sections of the design, creating an elegant, contemporary and strongly distinctive aesthetic. The knitted V-neck collar maintains a clean and refined style, perfectly aligned with the celebratory concept of the kit.
On the left chest appears the club crest in its very first version, used from 1926 to 1929: the four-leaf clover intertwined with a horseshoe, iconic symbols linked to the origins of PAOK FC and here reinterpreted through a 3D-effect thermoplastic patch. On the right-hand side, the white Macron Hero is applied in silicone. A further distinctive detail is represented by the customised silicone tape inserted inside the rear hem of the shirt, featuring the wording “PANTHESSALONIKIOS ATHLITIKOS OMILOS KONSTANTINOUPOLITON”, underlining the connection between the two cities embedded in the club’s very name.
A special jacquard label is also applied at the bottom of the shirt, certifying the Limited Edition nature of the product. The kit will in fact be available in limited quantities and distributed in a special centenary celebration box.
From a technical perspective, the shirt features a slim fit and, like all kits produced by Macron for its partner clubs, this special edition is made using Eco Fabric, fabrics produced from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. Specifically, it is mainly made from Eco Softlock, a lightweight and durable technical fabric that guarantees comfort and high-level performance. The rear panel and side inserts in Eco Micromesh ensure maximum breathability and ventilation during sporting activity.
The kit is completed by black shorts with silver details, along with black socks featuring white detailing.
