Andrea Mundici, R&D And Compliance Specialist, joined Macron in November 2023 through a training internship linked to a Master's degree in business management and sustainability.

His experience developed within the Research and Development department, dealing with materials, voluntary certifications and regulatory compliance, issues that are now central to European companies.

A role between materials and regulations

“My work combines research on fabrics with a daily focus on environmental regulations. It’s a role that requires constant updating and ensuring compliance with internal and community rules.”

Among other activities, Andrea contributed to the preparation of the company’s sustainability budget, a project that involved multiple departments and required a large amount of data collection. His task was to coordinate the environmental part, interfacing with all stakeholders, from institutions to customers, to ensure that the sustainable strategies were consistent and operational.

In parallel, it follows research and development projects throughout the entire product cycle: from ideation to production, to the recycling of materials to create new yarns.

The monitoring of suppliers according to international ethical and social standards complements its role:

“Third-party inspectors assess aspects such as working hours management, worker protection and environmental protection. The results help us understand where suppliers can improve and provide precise guidance to ensure high standards throughout the entire supply chain.”

A stimulating and cross-disciplinary environment

Andrea emphasizes how challenging his role is and how never monotonous it is. Interacting with all departments allows him to have a continuous exchange of ideas and to constantly learn.

“It’s a really young environment, where responsibilities are given from the very beginning. You can show who you are and have concrete achievements.”

For those who love sports, the role takes on added value:

“You don’t just see things on a screen; you understand how every product works. For example, a rugby jersey is different from a football jersey: knowing the materials and processes gives you a different perspective.”

Growth, responsibility and satisfaction

Andrea describes his journey as a balance between responsibility and opportunities for growth. Each project, each audit, and every interaction with the departments represents an inspiring challenge that contributes to his professional development.

“It’s a challenging environment, but also rewarding. From the very beginning you can put yourself to the test and you can really make a difference.”

A testimony that tells how innovation, sustainability and collaboration are intertwined in Macron on a daily basis, offering those who enter the company the opportunity to grow professionally and contribute concretely to the future of the company.
