The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off today in England, a country with a rich rugby tradition and one of the most passionate fan bases in the world. Macron, the Italian sportswear brand with a global leadership position, confirms its role as a key player in the tournament, outfitting five national teams — Italy, Scotland, Wales, Canada and the United States — while also standing alongside World Rugby, for whom the Bologna-based company supplies technical apparel for staff and match officials.

The kits designed for these five teams fully reflect Macron’s philosophy, combining advanced technology, comfort and sustainability through the use of Eco Fabrics and solutions created to support athletes in the most demanding situations. Each kit is the result of continuous dialogue with the federations and has been conceived to convey identity, tradition and competitive spirit. For this special occasion, Macron’s Design Centre has also created exclusive Game Sets for Scotland and Wales to be worn only during this competition.

The 2025 tournament marks the return of the Women’s Rugby World Cup to England, fifteen years after the 2010 edition. For the first time, 16 national teams will compete for the title — an expansion that underlines the rapid growth and global recognition of women’s rugby.

The opening match of the 10th edition will immediately feature a Macron team: the United States taking on England at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. On Saturday, 23 August, the first “Macron derby” will take place, with Scotland facing Wales at Salford Community Stadium in Manchester. On the same day, Canada will play Fiji at York Community Stadium, while Italy will take on France at Sandy Park in Exeter.

Macron’s participation in the tournament represents not only a prestigious milestone but also an opportunity to reaffirm its strong connection with rugby’s core values — passion, respect and teamwork — and to help promote them through the growth of the game.
