The world of rugby once again comes alive with the unique sense of occasion that only the Guinness Six Nations can deliver. The oldest and most prestigious international tournament in the game has now reached its 132nd edition. On the iconic stages that will host fiercely contested matches combining passion, intensity, tradition and respect, Macron once again confirms its status as a major player on the global rugby stage.
The Macron Hero will once again feature prominently on the jerseys of three of the six nations competing in the tournament: Italy, Scotland and Wales. Following the recent renewal of its prestigious technical partnership with World Rugby, announced just a few weeks ago, Macron will also continue to outfit the Emirates Match Officials for the 2026 edition. The brand will therefore support referees and officials throughout every fixture of the competition, further reinforcing its presence at the very highest level of the international rugby ecosystem.
Both the three national teams and the match officials will take to the field wearing kits that blend history and tradition with innovation in materials, performance-driven design and meticulous attention to detail. Garments that showcase research, technology and design expertise, while reflecting the core values that define rugby: commitment, sacrifice and teamwork. All with sustainability firmly at their heart.
Opening fixtures
The 2026 Guinness Six Nations, which got underway yesterday with the opening clash between France and Ireland, immediately delivers one of the three ‘Macron derbies’: Italy v Scotland. The match will be played on Saturday 7 February (kick-off 3:10 pm) at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, the historic home of the Italian national side. Since 2022, this fixture has also seen the Cuttitta Cup up for grabs.
The other Saturday encounter is an all-British clash, staged at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, the home of English rugby, where hosts England take on Wales.
Italy
Following their opening match against Scotland, Italy will travel to Dublin to face Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on 14 February. For the away fixture against France on Sunday 22 February – a match that has awarded the Garibaldi Trophy since 2007 – Italy will wear the third jersey from the 2026 Macron game set, entirely in Garibaldi Red. The collection has also been expanded to include an Anthem Jacket and a training jersey in the same colour. On 7 March, attention returns to the Stadio Olimpico for the highly anticipated clash with England. Italy’s campaign concludes with the second Macron derby, away to Wales on 14 March at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
Scotland
After their opener against Italy, Scotland will face historic rivals England on 14 February at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, contesting the 133rd edition of the Calcutta Cup. Saturday 21 February brings another all-British fixture and another Macron derby, as Scotland travel to Wales for the match that awards the Doddie Weir Cup. In March, following a home fixture against France, Scotland will round off their Guinness Six Nations campaign in Dublin against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium, with the Centenary Quaich at stake.
Wales
After their trip to London, the Red Dragons return to Cardiff on 15 February to face France, before welcoming Scotland to the Principality Stadium the following week. The Doddie Weir Trophy contested in this fixture is dedicated to the former Scotland international of the same name, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. A portion of ticket revenue from matches between Scotland and Wales is always donated to support research into MND. March sees Wales first travel to Ireland on 6 March, before closing the 2026 Guinness Six Nations at home against Italy.
Macron and rugby
In a tournament that has long represented rugby at its highest level, alongside its most authentic values, Macron plays a key role as a trusted partner to its national teams. The brand delivers elite performance, tells each team’s story and strengthens their sense of identity through colours and national symbols. Macron’s philosophy aligns naturally with the spirit of rugby, a sport with which the Italian company shares a deep and longstanding bond. A world where jerseys and kits carry powerful meaning. It is a world in which Macron operates with passion and commitment – the same qualities every Guinness Six Nations team will bring to the field – and to whom we wish an exciting and successful campaign.
