The bond between Northampton Saints and Macron is a long-standing one, which began in the 2016/17 season, and represents the longest technical kit partnership in the history of the prestigious English club. A partnership that has now been renewed once again, confirming a relationship that is no longer merely technical and commercial, but one of deep mutual respect and friendship between these two entities.

Macron has accompanied Saints throughout their journey over the past ten years, celebrating last season’s Gallagher Premiership triumph and rejoicing this year in their achievement of reaching the Investec Champions Cup final.

Northampton Saints were founded in 1880 as Northampton St. James by Reverend Samuel Wathen Wigg, a priest at St. James Church, who was a decent rugby player himself but, above all, believed that the sport – already widespread at the time – could help engage local young people. It is from the church’s name that the team’s other nickname, the Jimmies, also derives. Over their 145-year history, there have been countless chapters that tell the story of this club, whose trophy cabinet includes 2 Premiership titles, 1 Heineken Cup, 2 European Challenge Cups, 1 Premiership Rugby Cup, and 1 Anglo-Welsh Cup.

The long-standing relationship between Macron and Northampton Saints has led to the creation of technical kits with bespoke, innovative designs that not only ensure top-level performance, but have always reflected the club’s history, tradition, identity, pride and values. With this renewed partnership, the Italian brand – an undisputed leader in the world of rugby – will continue to support Saints with cutting-edge technical solutions, while also respecting the environment by using sustainable materials and responsible manufacturing processes.

When a partnership surpasses ten years of collaboration, it means a strong bond of friendship has been forged among all the people involved, a relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and shared values,” said Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “This spirit has made the partnership even more meaningful, turning every interaction into a moment of growth. We are proud to have provided Saints with top-quality technical materials, contributing to their success both on and off the field, and our goal is to continue innovating, offering them excellent technical support. This collaboration is an example of how business can be a vehicle to build authentic and lasting relationships.

Julia Chapman, Chief Executive of Northampton Saints, added: “We’re delighted to be extending our long-standing partnership with Macron, who have become a valued part of the family here at Saints. Having worked closely together for nearly a decade, the relationship between our two organisations is stronger than ever. What continues to impress us is Macron’s commitment to innovation and excellence season after season – something that shines through in the quality of the playing kit, training gear, and travel wear they produce.

“The feedback we receive from players, support staff, and supporters about Macron’s kit is consistently outstanding. Our retail operation has gone from strength to strength and posted record revenues again last year, while Macron have also seen impressive growth in their own business – a testament to the exceptional products and support Macron provides.

“What’s also so important to us is Macron’s deep understanding of our Club’s traditions and history, which they honour thoughtfully in every design. That respect for our identity makes working with them not just productive, but genuinely enjoyable. Securing this new long-term commercial partnership is fantastic news for Saints. We’re excited about what the next few years hold in store, and we’re proud to have Macron with us on that journey.”
