Macron is expanding its presence in Argentina’s First Division with a new partnership with Club Atlético Banfield. Banfield is a town some 14 kilometres from Buenos Aires. Starting next season, the players and staff of ‘El Taladro’ (the Drill), as the town’s club is known, will receive exclusive, customised teamwear from Macron. As is the case with all the clubs and federations partnered by Macron, the new kits supplied to CA Banfield will be made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material obtained entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic in confirmation of the commitment to sustainability and the environment shared by club and technical sponsor alike.

Club Atlético Banfield is one of the oldest football clubs in Argentina. Founded in 1896 by a group of British professionals and merchants, the club is traditionally one of the most popular in the south of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. The club’s trophy cabinet contains a historic Argentinian Championship won in 2009 under the guidance of Julio Cesar Falcioni, who has been Banfield’s manager on various occasions over the last twenty years. In recent years, Banfield’s green and white jerseys have been worn by such greats as Javier Zanetti, Javier Esteban Sanguinetti (who went on to manage the side), James Rodríguez, and Nicolás Tagliafico. El Taladro has had numerous managers in the last ten years, including two ex-Argentinian national players who also left their mark on European football: Hernan Crespo and Matías Almeyda.

Our new partnership with Banfield has consolidated our presence in Argentina and in a football championship that is rich in history and tradition and that has produced many incredible players and so much passion for the sport. We are excited to celebrate the values of Argentinian football by providing kits and teamwear for the players and supporters of this great club. Working together, I’m sure that we shall be able to design some truly unique collections to convey the identity and pride of Banfield,” declared Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron.

This agreement with Macron will give us a leap in quality for our men’s and women’s teams, our players and the athletes in all our activities. Macron is a brand with a long history and international recognition and this will also be felt by our community of members and fans who will find a premium product that will make them proud,” said Matías Mariotto, president of CA Banfield.
