Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque, a Basque rugby club that plays in the French Pro D2 championship, and Macron, the Red and Whites’s technical partner, have presented their new Home and Away shirts that combine the traditional colours and symbols of Basque identity with the graphic texture “THE BO FAMILY”, the “charge graphique” adopted by the club and used in all its communication.
The new Home strip is in the traditional red and white combination. The shoulders, upper chest and sleeves are in red, the central body, front and back, is white. The collar has white edges and the end of the collar features the Basque flag, the “Ikurrina”. The backneck is personalised with a red background label with the Basque cross flower design, the club’s name and logo, the Basque motto “Aupa BO” and the name Audrey, in memory of the team’s CFO, who died prematurely. Macron Hero, the Italian brand’s logo, is embroidered on the centre of the chest in white, and on the left, also in white, is the Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque badge. The entire shirt features the cheery and now iconic tone-on-tone graphic “THE BO FAMILY” and on the front shirt bottom, on the left, there is a patch celebrating the 20th anniversary of the national title won by Biarritz on 8 June 2002 at the Stade de France in Paris when they beat Agent 25-22. The Basque cross, called Lauburu, is inserted on the back jersey bottom in a sublimation print. The white shorts with red side borders echo the shirt graphics. The socks are white with a narrow red stripe on the upper edge.
The Away version is black with yellow inserts on the shoulders, chest and sides. The collar has yellow edges and the “Ikurrina” inserted at the end of the collar is also in the same colour. As for the Home version, the shirt features the personal graphics adopted by the Basque club that are developed, tone on tone, on the front and on the central part of the back. On the chest there is also the Macron Hero and the Basque club’s badge in yellow, whilst in the bottom left-hand corner there is the inscription in the patch celebrating 20 years since the title was won in the summer of 2002, with a print of the Basque cross on the lower back. The black shorts, on which there is the same graphic as the shirt, have yellow inserts and the black socks have a yellow upper border.
The shirts feature a Muscle Fit and are produced in Armevo and Bodytex fabrics, which as well as being lightweight and breathable, are ultra hard-wearing. The official Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque strips are available online in the club’s dedicated section on macron.com .
