The strength of tradition in the new kits made by Macron for Velez Sarsfield

Velez 2025 kits represent the bond between the club and Italy
January 21, 2025

Velez Sarsfield starts the year 2025 with the title of Champion of Argentina, conquered last December, and is preparing to start the next season wearing the new kits made by Macron, which has been the new technical partner of El Fortín since January 1. The jerseys express the sense of belonging to the club’s colours from Liniers, a suburb of Buenos Aires, and represent the continuity of tradition through the strong ties between the club and Italy.

Vélez Sarsfield’s new Home jersey is white with a knitted mandarin collar and a two-button closure with two fine stripes, one red and one green on the edge (three colours that recall the Italian flag). The sleeve edges are in royal blue and feature a sublimation-printed design composed of a white stripe with one of the Argentine club’s historical symbols in the centre, one of the two old towers that represented the entrance to ‘El Fortín’, the first stadium in Vélez’s history located in the barrio of Villa Luro. On the chest, also in royal blue, is the traditional chevron design that has always characterised the team’s jersey. Inside this large ‘V’, on the right in white and in silicon print, is the Macron Hero, while on the left is the crest of Vélez Sarsfield.

The backneck is personalised, on a royal blue background, by the club logo, the Macron logo and the words Designed in Bologna, certifying and highlighting how each garment is conceived, designed and developed on the Macron Campus. On the back of the jersey, on the outer back neck, the two dates 1910 and 2025 are printed in blue, with the number 115 in the middle of the club’s crest to celebrate the club’s special anniversary. The inscription ‘EL PRIMERO EN SER UN GRAN CLUB’ (The first one to be a great club) is on the bottom of the jersey and is also in blue.

The Away version follows the layout of the first jersey with the colours reversed. Royal blue is the dominant colour, while the collar, sleeve edges, and the chevron on the chest are white. The sublimation-printed design of the tower is also on the sleeve edges, as are the two inscriptions on the back of the jersey. The Macron Hero on the chest is blue next to the Vélez Sarsfield coat of arms.

Like all game sets produced by Macron for its partner clubs, both Velez kits are made of Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from post-consumer recycled plastic and certified by the Global Recycled Standard. The main fabric used is Eco Softlock, and the Eco Micromesh panel on the back, together with Eco Mesh inserts, ensures lightness and improves breathability.
