August 22, 2025

Just a few hours before kick-off of the match against Paraguay, valid for the 2027 Rugby World Cup qualifiers, the Unión de Rugby del Uruguay (URU) and Macron have unveiled the new official Game Set of the Uruguayan national rugby teams. Entirely customised, the new kits are enriched with details that pay tribute to the symbols and identity of the South American country.

The new 2025/26 Uruguay Rugby Home jersey is in the traditional celeste colour, with a polo collar and sleeve edges completed by white details. The central body of the kit, both front and back, features a repeated sublimated pattern in a slightly lighter shade. The graphic depicts the Sol de Mayo, the national emblem of Uruguay, surrounded by smaller and simplified star representations. The same pattern is also present on the sleeves, where it is printed in a darker sky blue than the main colour of the shirt. The Macron Hero, logo of the URU’s partner brand since 2024, is embroidered on the right chest, while the patch with the Uruguayan federation crest is embroidered on the left. A large Sol de Mayo is embossed on the lower back of the shirt.

On the outer back collar the inscription ‘LOS TEROS’ is embroidered, the nickname of the Uruguayan rugby teams and the Spanish name of the Southern Lapwing, also represented in the URU crest. Inside the collar there is a band composed of alternating sky blue and white stripes. The label is personalised with the Uruguayan flag on the right side and on the left the Macron logo with the wording ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that each garment is conceived, designed and developed within the Macron Campus, headquarters of the Italian brand. The kit is completed by white shorts with sky blue detailing and with the same shirt pattern printed in a band on the back. The socks are sky blue with a white central stripe and the wording URU under the calves.

The Away version faithfully replicates the design of the Home Kit, with yellow as the main colour. The collar and sleeve edges are in this case sky blue, while the Sol de Mayo pattern is in a slightly lighter shade on the shirt body and even lighter on the sleeves. The shorts are sky blue with white and yellow detailing and the socks are yellow with a sky blue stripe.

As with all Game Sets produced by Macron for its partners, both kits are made entirely of Eco Fabric, a material obtained 100% from recycled post-consumer plastic. Specifically, both the Home and Away versions use Eco Armevo as the main fabric, with sleeves and side panels made in Eco Bodytex and the addition of Eco Strong Mesh inserts to ensure greater breathability.
