To feel the true spirit of rugby, one need only step into Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium – the legendary home of the Scottish national team and a symbol of the game worldwide. This historic rugby ground, named after the Edinburgh district in which it stands, celebrates its centenary this year.
To mark this milestone, Macron and the Scottish Rugby Union have created a special kit, ‘The Murrayfield 100 Kit’, unveiled today and set to be worn by the Scottish national team on 8th of November. The occasion could not be more prestigious: Scotland will face New Zealand in the Autumn Nations Series, right on the turf of Scottish Gas Murrayfield. The special kit is accompanied by an exclusive ICON Capsule Collection, designed to celebrate this historic anniversary beyond the pitch, in everyday life.
The story of the Scottish national team is deeply intertwined with that of Murrayfield, which was inaugurated on 21 March 1925. On that day, the Thistles claimed the Calcutta Cup with a 14–11 victory over England, and went on to win the Five Nations Championship in the same year. Over its 100 years of history, the home of Scottish rugby has witnessed countless thrilling, unforgettable moments and remains rightly regarded as one of the temples of world rugby.
The special Murrayfield 100 Kit features a navy-blue shirt with a white polo collar and a two-button placket. Inside the collar runs a customised tape bearing the word Scotland alternated with the Scottish Rugby Union logo. The sleeve cuffs include a subtle tonal graphic inspired by the stadium’s iconic metal girders. Embroidered in gold on the left sleeve are the words MURRAYFIELD STADIUM 1925–2025. On the chest, the Macron Hero is embroidered tone-on-tone on the right, while on the left sits the first historic Scottish Rugby Union crest in white. The SRU’s current logo is embroidered tone-on-tone on the right sleeve. The kit is completed by white shorts featuring the historic SRU crest and the Macron Hero, both embroidered in gold on the thighs.
As with all garments produced by Macron for the Scottish Rugby Union, this special kit is made from Eco Fabrics – 100% polyester derived from post-consumer recycled plastic. Specifically, the fabrics used are Eco Armevo, Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh, materials that ensure lightness, breathability and maximum durability.
The Murrayfield 100 Kit is complemented by the ICON Capsule Collection, which includes a black polo shirt, a high-neck full-zip sweatshirt, travel jacket and trousers. All items feature the historic Scottish Rugby Union logo and the Macron Hero, applied in white silicone with a 3D effect.
