On 20 February 1910, Associazione Calcio Padova played its first official game. In a goalless match, the Padua team faced Hellas Verona on the “Giovan Battista Belzoni” field. Only 23 days after the club’s foundation in Bar Borsa, in Piazzetta delle Garzerie, the sporting story of Calcio Padova had begun. The shirt worn by the eleven players on that day, 115 years ago, gave Macron the inspiration to design the Anniversary Kit celebrating this impressive milestone. The kit, of which only 115 numbered pieces were made, will be worn tomorrow at the home match against Pro Vercelli.
The Anniversary Kit has a white polo neck and is divided vertically into two halves: red on the right and white on the left. The colours of the sleeves are inverted. The jersey is made from a dye-sub-printed, vintage-effect fabric. The Macron Hero is embroidered in red, edged in gold, on the right of the chest, while a vintage version of the AC Padova logo, derived from that used by the club until 1977, is applied over the heart. The inside neck label is customised with the colours and logo of the club, the words NOI SIAMO I PADOVANI (we are the Paduans), the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying that every garment is designed and made at the Macron Campus. The two dates of 29 January 1910 and 29 January 2025 are embroidered in gold at the back of the neck to celebrate the club’s 115 years of history. Another important detail is dye-sub printed on the side of the jersey: the words pronounced by the club’s first president, baron Giorgio Treves de’Bonfili (who played in a friendly match on 20 February 2010), “I colori saranno quelli della città di Padova: il bianco e il rosso” (the colours will be those of Padua: white and red).
Black socks complete the celebratory kit with a white cuff and a thin red line. At the front, at ankle height, is a red Macron Hero, while the letters ‘ACP’ followed by the figure ‘115’ denoting the Calcio Padova centenary appear in white on the calf.
As with all the game sets that Macron produces for partner clubs, AC Padova’s Anniversary Kit is made from Eco Fabric, a polyester material made entirely from recycled plastic. In particular, the materials used are Eco Gotex with a back panel in Eco Baimi and Eco Mesh inserts for reduced weight and improved breathability.
