The cross featured in the Northampton Saints crest takes centre stage in the new Away Kit designed by Macron and officially unveiled by the English club. Inspired by the cross that appeared on the shirts worn by boys in 1880 during the first matches of a club then known as the St James Improvement Class, it is a symbol of identity—a connection to the past but also a look ahead to the future of the Jimmies.
Northampton Saints 2025/26 Away shirt features a polo collar and purple sleeve cuffs, but the dominant colour is a warm, vibrant yellow. The shirt displays an all-over graphic made up of the repeated cross design found in the club’s crest. In certain areas, the cross—tone-on-tone—stands out with a more intense yellow, almost orange hue. The backneck, identical to the Home shirt, is personalised with the club’s colours and crest alongside the Macron logo and the wording ‘Designed in Bologna’, certifying and highlighting how every garment is conceived, designed, and developed at the Macron Campus. On the chest, the Macron Hero appears in black on the right, with Saints crest on the left. On the outer rear collar, the word SAINTS is embroidered in black.
The full Away kit includes yellow shorts with the shirt’s graphic repeated on the side bands. The yellow socks feature a fine horizontal purple stripe at the top, the Macron Hero at the ankle, and the St James cross in a more vivid yellow on the calf. It has a body fit, with the main fabric being Eco Armevo. Inserts in Eco Boditex and Eco Strong Mesh guarantee high performance and durability, as well as lightness and excellent breathability.
The new Northampton Saints kits—like all technical garments produced by Macron for its partners — are made entirely from Eco Fabric, polyester fabric derived 100% from post-consumer recycled plastic. This reaffirms the Italian brand’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, a value strongly shared by the English club. The kits are available now in Saints’ dedicated space on macron.com.
