FC Basel 1893 concluded an exhilarating season by winning their 21st Swiss Championship title, which was followed, for a special ‘double’, by victory in the national cup final. The “Rotblau” are now preparing for their upcoming domestic and international fixtures and, together with Macron, technical partner of the top Swiss club, have presented the new Home and Away kits for the 2025/26 season. The collaboration between FC Basel 1893 and Macron continues to focus on graphic research and innovative design, creating solutions that maintain the link to tradition and to the club’s symbols while reinterpreting them in two kits with a modern feel.
The new 2025/26 Home shirt features a dark red crew neck with two thin brighter red stripes, a colour combination that is also present on the sleeve edges. The shirt, both on the front body and the back panel, has a dark blue base on which four vertical red bands stand out, bordered on one side by a fine royal blue line and on the other by a brighter red line, which at chest height curve outwards. This ‘movement’ could recall the shape of the Baslerstab, or Basel Staff, a symbol that appears on the city of Basel’s flag. The sleeves are in dark navy blue, as are the breathable fabric bands applied on both sides. The edges of both the sleeves and the side panels are further highlighted by an elegant bright red piping. The backneck is customised with red and blue wavy stripes on which 1893, the founding year of the club, appears alongside the Macron logo and the wording Designed in Bologna, certifying that each garment is conceived, designed and developed at the Macron Campus. On the chest, in red silicone print, is the Macron Hero, with the club crest on the left. On the outer rear neck, the image of the Baslerstab is embroidered in red. The home game set is completed by blue shorts with navy blue side bands and bright red piping on the sides and thigh hem. The blue socks have a dark red top edge with two bright red horizontal stripes.
The Away version mirrors the design of the Home shirt but with a bold and impactful choice of colour. The shirt features a navy blue V-neck with two thin stripes in red and royal blue, a combination also present on the sleeve edges. Both on the central body and on the sleeves, the kit is entirely lilac and, both on the front and back, features four vertical embossed graphic bands that, as in the Home version, curve outwards at chest height. Here too there is an elegant piping, in this case navy blue, highlighting the edges of the sleeves and sides. In navy blue silicone print on the right chest stands the Macron Hero, while on the left is a version of the FC Basel 1893 crest consisting solely of the monogram FCB topped by two stars symbolising the club’s 21 Swiss Championship titles. On the outer rear neck, the image of the Baslerstab is embroidered in black, a heraldic symbol representing a pastoral staff that appears on the city of Basel’s flag and coat of arms. The Away game set is completed by lilac shorts with side bands in the same colour but in a darker shade, and blue stripes on the thigh hem. The lilac socks have a dark blue top edge with two horizontal stripes in red and royal blue. The Away kit has been made using Eco Everton fabric, which creates a reflective effect, reminiscent of the materials used in typical 1990s kits.
The new FC Basel 1893 Home and Away kits, like all kits created by Macron for its partner clubs, are made from Eco Fabric, 100% polyester materials derived from recycled plastic, confirming the green philosophy as a commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.
