The identifying colours of the Parramatta Eels, on whose shirts the Macron Hero has featured since 2020, characterise the new game kits that Macron has created for the Australian rugby club that plays in the NRL Telstra Premiership and that represents Parramatta, a suburb located about 20 km from the city centre of Sydney. In addition to the club’s identity, the game kits also express a strong message of sustainability because, as with all garments produced by the Italian brand for its clubs and federations, they are made of Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester fabric made from post-consumer recycled plastic.
The new Home has a crew neck with a dark blue border and yellow details, a colour combination that is also echoed on the sleeves’ edges. The shirt is in a double shade of blue with the darker part at chest height: underneath, there are four yellow bands in sublimation print, composed of fine and elegant diagonal stripes. The Macron Hero is positioned in yellow at the sides of the collar on the shoulders, while the logo of the NRL Telstra Premiership is printed on the right chest, and on the left is the Parramatta Eels crest. On the outer back collar, in yellow, is the date 1947, which refers to the year the club was founded. The Home Kit is completed by blue shorts with sidebands of a less intense blue, with the four yellow bands echoing those on the jersey. The dark blue socks have four horizontal yellow bands in the center and on the calf, also in yellow, the Macron Hero, with the date 1947 below.
The Away version, on the other hand, features two shades of golden yellow that merge, front and back, leaving space in the middle of the jersey for four horizontal bands of a slightly less charged blue. As in the Home version, the collar and sleeve edges are in blue. Again, the Macron Hero is on both sides of the collar, and printed on the chest are the logo of the Australian Rugby 13-a-side professional league and that of the club, whose nickname, eels, comes from the Aboriginal version of Parramatta or Barramattagal, meaning ‘place where eels dwell’. On the backneck, the year of the foundation is printed in blue. The shorts are yellow with white drawstrings and blue bands on the hips.
The new Parramatta Eels jerseys have a Body Fit fit, the main fabric used is Eco-Armevo, and the presence of Eco-Boditex and Eco-Strong Mesh inserts ensure the garment’s high performance and durability, along with lightness and perfect breathability. The new game sets and the exclusive line of clothing Macron creates for the Parramatta Eels are available in the shop section of the official website of the Australian team and in the section dedicated to the Australian club on macron.com.
