‘Shirts of Light’ is the name of the Macron exhibition organized on the occasion of ArteFiera

From 7 to 13 February, the Galleria Cavour Macron Store will host a special exhibition
February 07, 2025

A football shirt is magical and emotional and can also become an artistic expression. The artistic exhibition realized by Macron at the Galleria Cavour Macron Store on the occasion of Arte Fiera, an exhibition event dedicated to the Italian art scene, goes in this direction. Free to visit from 7 February to 13 February, the special exhibition consists of five works of art created to pay homage to the three jerseys of Bologna FC 1909 for the 2024-2025 season.

The five works, which pay homage to some of the red and blue club’s jerseys from this season, have been ‘interpreted’ by Bologna artist Michele Astolfi. He has decorated them with tesserae created with hand-painted Murano glass and embellished with Swarovski crystals. These are the Home shirt, the Third shirt, and the special kit created by Macron for Bologna’s Champions League matches. In particular, the latter was made by Astolfi using the original jersey Riccardo Orsolini wore at Anfield against Liverpool in his UEFA Champions League debut.

The exhibition’s inauguration was held this evening at the Macron Store Galleria Cavour. It was followed by a brief press conference at which the project was illustrated, attended by Angelo Marino, Macron’s Chief Brand and Communications Officer; Marco Di Vaio, Bologna FC 1909’s Sports Director and the artist Michele Astolfi.

‘In recent months, the Macron brand has shared its identity beyond the world of sport, immersing itself in fashion, design events and, in this case, art. We want to promote the values behind our products: performance, design, creativity and innovation, to inspire and engage an ever-widening community of enthusiasts. – said Angelo Marino, Chief Brand and Communications Officer of Macron. – – The jerseys of a club carry with them identity, experiences, emotions and, in this case thanks to the artist Michele Astolfi, they become true works of art able to excite in a different way. We are very happy that the artist was inspired for his creations by the jerseys made by the Macron Style Department for Bologna FC, the team of our city to which Macron has been linked since 2001 for one of the longest partnerships in the world of football.’

After participating in the Demo Festival in Amsterdam, ArteFiera continues the path of ‘contamination’ that the Macron Company is pursuing by exploiting design as an artistic expression and universal communication tool.

The exhibition will remain open and free to the public until 13 February, with an extraordinary opening until midnight on Saturday, 8 February, on the occasion of Art City White Night.
