Dario Benea: Sixteen Years of Change and Innovation at Macron

A journey between technology, professional growth and personal challenges: Dario’s experience at the heart of corporate evolution.
May 16, 2025

For over 16 years, Dario Benea has been at the forefront of Macron’s evolution, now serving as a Business Analyst. His mission? To translate the needs of operational departments into efficient digital solutions, enabling every area of the company to perform at its best with cutting-edge IT tools.
“When I started, back in November 2008, there were 50 of us, and the IT department was run by just three people. Today, we’re a structured company with an advanced management system like SAP, allowing us to operate on a whole new level.”

From problem-solving to strategy: an evolving role

In his role, Dario finds himself “in the middle”: he must listen to business needs and transform them into concrete technological solutions.
“My job isn’t just to manage technology, but to translate the needs of those working in different departments into tools that are truly useful.”

The company’s growth has brought increasingly ambitious challenges.
“In the past 16 years, the goals have become bigger and more complex. We always had to be ready to meet new demands and anticipate the best solutions to support Macron’s expansion.”

Automation and innovation: the challenge of the future

With the implementation of the SAP management system, Dario’s work focuses on automating management processes, not only for the headquarters, but for the entire Macron Sports Hub network and international offices, including Macron US. “2025 will be a key year to extend system integration globally. We need to ensure logical alignment between all departments, making processes smooth and optimized.”

But the role of Business Analyst is not only reactive-it is also proactive. “Now that we have a management system with enormous potential like SAP, we have to be able to anticipate business needs. It’s not enough to respond to requests; we have to come up with innovative tools even before we are asked.”

Personal and professional growth: the value of change

Dario describes his journey in Macron with a phrase from Massimo Gramellini: “To take a step forward, you have to lose your balance for a moment.” A concept he experienced firsthand. “Every change brings with it some uncertainty, but it is also the only way to grow. Every time we faced a challenge, we knew it would take us to the next level.”

A work environment that makes a difference

If after so many years Dario has never felt the need to change, credit is also due to the business environment. “Macron puts people at the center. Here you are not just a number, but a professional who is valued. The work environment is stimulating, positive and full of opportunities for discussion. We spend most of our days in the office: doing it in a pleasant environment and with people you’re comfortable with makes all the difference in the world.”

Despite his introverted nature, he found in Macron an environment that helped him open up. “The team-building initiatives, the corporate events, the collaborative atmosphere-all these things allow you to feel part of something bigger.”

Macron in a word? Family.

“For me, working in Macron is like being part of a family. Of course, there are moments of tension and misunderstandings, as in any working environment, but the spirit that guides us is always to build something together. And it is precisely this mentality that Macron also conveys to its partners: every collaboration is based on mutual value, creating lasting relationships of trust.”

Looking to the future, Dario knows there will be no shortage of challenges, but this does not scare him. “If there is one thing I have learned here, it is that change should not be feared: it should be embraced. And that’s exactly how you grow.”
