Costanza Buzio: when sport meets fashion

Between product development and club identity, each garment tells a story of sport and passion.
July 21, 2025

Combining passion and work isn’t always easy. But for Costanza Buzio, now an Apparel Developer at Macron, it has become a concrete reality. Since January 2022, she has been an integral part of the creative process that transforms sketches and ideas into real sports garments, worn by athletes and teams around the world.

“My job is to give shape to an idea. A drawing can be beautiful, but if it can’t be produced, it’s not enough. That’s where the challenge lies: combining aesthetics, design, performance, and production feasibility.”

Costanza oversees all stages of development for match kits and the Training and Travel collections, doing so with a keen eye on both club identity and technical requirements. No two days are the same, and the requests become increasingly complex and ambitious. But that’s exactly what keeps her motivated.

From high fashion to team sports

Before joining Macron, Costanza worked in the world of high fashion. That experience gave her a strong sense of aesthetics, which she now applies in a fast-evolving industry.

“Joining Macron helped me grow a lot, especially from a technical point of view. I also learned to manage communication and internal relationships. It’s a dynamic and cohesive environment where teamwork truly makes a difference.”

A concrete example is the collaboration with Slam Jam for SPAL’s jersey, a project that allowed her to bring her fashion background into play.
“It felt like going back to my world, but with a sports objective. I was speaking to a team, but also to people who truly understand the language of fashion. It was wonderful.”

Belonging and growth

Even though she’s only been at Macron for just over two years, Costanza feels a strong sense of belonging. The company grows every day, and she wants to grow with it.

“I feel like I’m part of something big, and I want to keep contributing. Macron has a solid, ambitious project and never stops. I want to live up to that energy.”

A Rugby dream come true

A huge rugby fan—especially of the Italian national team—Costanza is now responsible for the industrialization of Italrugby’s jerseys, a role that once seemed like just a dream when she first joined the company.

“Now I oversee Italy and Wales. When I see them playing in the jerseys we developed, it’s as if I’m out there too. Those jerseys aren’t just mine, of course, but a piece of me is in them.”

Macron in one word: passion

Throughout her story, one word comes up again and again: passion. Passion for sport, of course, but also for the work she puts into every day—across creativity, technique, and relationships.

“Macron brought together my two passions, and that’s not something you can take for granted. It’s what drives me to always give more.”
