Green is the distinctive and distinguishing colour of the shirts worn by the National football team of Comoros, but on another level it also conveys a clear message of sustainability and respect for the environment. This is thanks to the Eco-Softlock fabric (100% PET recycled polyester certified by the Global Recycled Standard) used by Macron, the international brand leader in the teamwear sector and technical sponsor of \u2018Les Coelacantes\u2019, to produce the new strips which will be worn by the team during both the Arab Cup qualifying match against Palestine in Qatar, and in the Africa Cup of Nations, a championship in which the team will play for the first time ever following its thrilling qualification last spring.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The partnership between Macron and F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Comorienne de Football also stems from a shared commitment to be part of the change, using the Planet’s resources responsibly and making high quality products with the lowest possible environmental impact. This green attitude translates into shirts produced in Eco-Fabric, made 100% from recycled plastic. 13 half-litre plastic bottles are recycled to produce a single shirt.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This message is especially important in a natural paradise like the island nation of Comoros. A paradise to be protected and preserved, just like everywhere else on the planet, and where everyone must do their bit. Macron resolved some time ago to be part of this change, and the \u201cMacron 4 the Planet\u201d project sums up the Italian brand\u2019s commitment to ensuring greater environmental sustainability. The project sees the company produce garments in recycled polyester, optimise the materials used for packaging, and significantly reduce the amount of paper used.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Comoros National football team represents a tangible expression of the project, in the shape of match kits designed to ideally convey the team\u2019s identity and loyalty to its colours and traditional symbols, while at the same time launching a strong, positive message about the environment and the need to protect it.<\/p>\n
