{"id":14079,"date":"2025-07-31T14:37:57","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T14:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/about.macron.com\/?p=14079"},"modified":"2025-07-31T14:37:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T14:37:59","slug":"wrexham-afc-2025-26-third-kit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/about.macron.com\/en\/news\/kit-launches\/wrexham-afc-2025-26-third-kit\/","title":{"rendered":"Wrexham AFC and Macron unveil Patagonia-inspired 2025\/26 Third Kit celebrates Welsh expat community on 160th anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wrexhamafcstore.com\/eu\/\">Wrexham AFC<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/about.macron.com\/en\/macron-world\/\">Macron<\/a><\/strong> are delighted to unveil the <strong>2025\/26 Third Kit<\/strong>, which celebrates <em>Y Wladfa<\/em> and the <strong>Welsh community in Patagonia<\/strong> on the 160<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of their settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As featured in <em>Welcome to Wrexham<\/em>, <strong>Y Wladfa<\/strong> (literally, \u2018The Welsh Settlement\u2019) refers to the Welsh colonists and immigrants who found a home in <strong>Patagonia<\/strong>, starting in 1865.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Welsh-speaking community were celebrated in the eight-time Emmy Award-winning documentary and fulfilled a dream of visiting Wrexham to watch the Red Dragons in action thanks to shirt sponsors, United Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And United have revisited Patagonia with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/WNKOu1QTIBo\">video reveal<\/a><\/strong> of the <strong>new blue-and-white hooped Third shirt<\/strong>. It features choirs in both Wales and Patagonia singing <em>Yma o Hyd<\/em>, which translates from Welsh to English as \u2018<em>We\u2019re still here<\/em>&#8216;, and unveiling the new <strong>Macron<\/strong> shirts which can be viewed on Wrexham AFC\u2019s social channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wrexham x United Third Kit\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WNKOu1QTIBo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on <strong>the colours of the Patagonia flag<\/strong>, the new shirt features <strong>dragon outlines<\/strong> within the blue Argentinian stripes, a Welsh dragon on the nape and the words \u2018<em>Don\u2019t forget where you came from<\/em>\u2019 on an internal tape around the hem. As well as referencing the opening titles to <em>Welcome to Wrexham<\/em>, it is a reminder that the Patagonian Welsh cousins will always have a home in the \u2018<em>Land of our fathers<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collar of the shirt is a white crew neck edged in red, as are the sleeve cuffs. The front features the <strong>Macron Hero<\/strong> and <strong>Wrexham AFC crest<\/strong>, both applied in heat-transferred silicone, and the United logo across the middle. Sleeve sponsors HP and back-of-shirt sponsors Meta Quest also feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Third Kit is completed by white shorts with light blue stripes along the thigh edges and red details, and by socks featuring horizontal light blue and white bands, finished with a white top edge and a central red horizontal stripe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the new third kit, <strong>Wrexham AFC CEO Michael Williamson<\/strong> said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The 2025\/26 Wrexham AFC third kit is truly very special to us as a Club. It invokes the history and heritage of 160 years ago and reminds us all of that special bond we have with our cousins in Patagonia. As we continue our journey through the leagues rewriting history, we will always remember our past and what helped create the bedrock of this special Club \u2013 the people, our community and our history.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello<\/strong> affirmed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The Third Kit, conceived as a tribute to Y Wladfa, completes a Game Set for Wrexham AFC that we are truly proud of and that we hope will inspire the team to many achievements in the upcoming season. As Macron, what really sets us apart in designing kits for our partner clubs is the freedom to start from a completely blank canvas. With the Home, Away and Third kits for 2025\/26 season, we feel we have truly captured the spirit and identity of the club, blending tradition with innovation, all while keeping quality at the heart of everything we do.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crafted primarily from Macron\u2019s <em>Eco Softlock<\/em> fabric, with panels in <em>Eco Micromesh<\/em> and <em>Eco Mesh<\/em> inserts, the shirt is both lightweight and breathable. As ever, the Macron logo inside the nape features the words \u201c<em>Designed in Bologna<\/em>\u201d, highlighting that every garment is conceived, designed and developed at the <strong>Macron Campus<\/strong>, the brand\u2019s headquarters in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>new Wrexham AFC Third Kit<\/strong> is now available for purchase in the club\u2019s official stores and online at
